PRITHAK helped me reach my Goal....

"PRITHAK helped me reach my Goal....

of becoming self-reliant, having a career direction, conversing in English and being respected by the larger society", says Sonveer, a 19 years old resident of Sanjay Colony slum cluster in Okhla Phase II, Delhi.

Sonveer comes from a family of four sisters and two brothers. His father is a cutting master in a factory by profession and mother manages a small grocery in their home. Sonveer has studied till 12th grade, he wants to pursue a Technical Training from the Industrial Training Institute.

Prithak is a familiar name for him as one of his sisters is the General Secretary and teaches Music to the children. At Prithak, Sonveer joined the English communication classes and was later referred to UNNATI-a sister NGO which prepares youth for the job market. Here he attended the 50 days job guaranteed training program. Now, he has been placed as a Trainee in the Sales & Marketing Department of a leading chain of readymades.

“At Unnati, I learned not only marketing skills but also how to groom my personality, improve my body language, English communication, moral values and computer skills. Thanks to Prithak for referring me to Unnati Training center."

According to Sonveer, Prithak is doing a great work for the overall development of the community. It provides many opportunities like English Communication, Computer training, Vocational support, Art, Music, Dance, Theater and coaching support to school going students.

"I greatly enjoy Prithak’s Annual Event-Odyssey. In which I have been participating each year since it started. I won first prize in Model making competition in last year Odyssey 2015".

In Sanjay Colony, we need organizations like Prithak, most families here are migrants from villages. They hardly have enough to feed themselves. Programs like the ones run by Prithak makes children educated, talented and confident and these programs are offered free of cost. They will help shape a child's future.

Thank you once again Prithak!!
