Mangal's family hails from a small village in Uttar Pradesh. His father
moved to Delhi for a better living. His mother and sister decided to go
back in the village while Mangal stayed with his father. He did his
schooling up to 10th standard from Deepalaya.
After that, he enrolled in senior secondary school and did well
academically, while he also managed the house. His father is working as a
 tailor in a factory.
While at School, Mangal discovered his
talent for art and creativity. Encouraged by his teachers, he worked
further on his skills. After completing High School, he completed
two-year Diploma in Art and Book Illustration and Computer Graphics,
which was possible due to the sponsorship support from ShikshaDaan. He then went on to work in the field of graphic designing.
He is one of the Founding members of PRITHAK and also volunteered his
time to teach Art & Craft to the students. PRITHAK has been a
turning point-"I have learned organization skills, professionalism,
improved upon on team building skills and will not be wrong in saying I
have learned and built upon my leadership skills".
In 2015, PRITHAK got an opportunity to send in candidates for the CCI program that is sponsored by U.S. Department of State.
We sent three candidates from PRITHAK. Mangal made it to the list of
selected candidates. Apart from filling in a detailed application form,
he went through tests for English language fluency and other
capabilities. He did well throughout and Team PRITHAK was elated on
receiving news of his selection.
CCIP (Community College Initiative Program) is an Exchange Programs - U.S. Department of State

community engagement activities.

"Teaching young children gave me a
lot of satisfaction...my patience levels grew; my role went beyond an
art teacher- it was learning management of their joys and sorrows,
counseling their family members, it was a challenge- mostly parents felt
art & craft was a waste of time. It took the time to convince them
that an extra-curricular skill helps the child develop confidence,
builds their personality," says Mangal.
 Mangal attributes much to
PRITHAK-" Being associated with PRITHAK has been inspiring; to mobilize
the neighborhood for educating their children, adopting healthier way
of life, think about and plan for the future has been a big challenge
but I am happy that we have been accepted by the community now we will
take further steps".
Mangal is confident that he will be back
with the sharper organization, management, and networking skills which
will help him with PRITHAK's progress. He is also sure that his
enhanced knowledge on graphics will help him professionally and he also
hopes to teach more at PRITHAK.
 GOOD LUCK Mangal!!
